This is very sad news that has hit the world of golf. Denis was a great man, creator of the Golf de la Picardière, where we were born, where we grew up and progressed alongside Frédéric Larretche.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- 1988, having family farmland, Denis decided to create his golf course, starting first with 6 holes called "school course", including four par 3s and two par 4s, which will be intended to accommodate schoolchildren, which was a few years later, on the FFGolf program.
- It was only in 1991, with the help of the architect Jean-Louis PEGA, that the 18-hole 6071m course saw the light of day.
- 1994, Denis was the 3rd golf director to join the GOLFY network that we still know today. In the photo, the presentation of the GOLFY 20th anniversary jacket
- 1998-2014: Denis Baert, then elected president of the Ligue du Centre de golf, devoted himself to developing the practice of golf and helped young people at the regional level to reach their best level.
- 2016: The Girls of Vierzon La Picardière win the qualifications for the French 1st Division U16 championship by 3 strokes, coached at the time by Mathieu LAGNEAU, a high-level golf instructor. Read the article
Many Vierzon residents have acquired a passion for the little white ball and are still in the world of golf, pros, directors, national technical advisors, greenkeepers, and in large part, thanks to Denis.
We will never forget the times spent at La Picardière, from the fun golf competitions, to the heated belote games, and the sporting results it allowed us to achieve.
One thing is sure Denis, we will miss you very much.
